PFWB(C) Universal Console / Floorstanding
The Polar Air PFWB(C) Universal Console/Floorstanding fan coil delivers up to 14 kW of heating and cooling with flexible installation options for wall, ceiling, or floor applications, with vertical or horizontal air return.
It is available in uncased or decorative cased designs, with optional supporting feet, making it suitable as a console or cabinet-style unit.
Quiet, efficient, and versatile, it’s ideal for residential, hospitality, and educational spaces such as homes, condos, hotels, retirement homes, and classrooms.

Multiple coil row configurations provide greater surface area for heat transfer, delivering higher efficiency and more cooling and heating capacity.
The added surface also improves latent capacity for better humidity control and more consistent comfort across varying load conditions.

The PFWBC model includes decorative ABS casing with optional ABS feet available, to blend into modern spaces.
Plus an optional G4 (MERV 8) filter upgrade improves indoor air quality, while quiet operation ensures comfort in living, learning, and working spaces.

Includes both a 2-pipe and 4-pipe model, and available in 9 sizes to suit larger applications like banquet halls.
The 4-pipe allows heating in one area and cooling in another simultaneously, ideal for buildings with varied thermal loads like north/south-facing zones or occupancy patterns.
Installation & Maintenance
Supplied ready to install, cutting time and cost, with V-shape internal drain pan (horizontal/vertical installation), 5 mm (0.2”) NBR insulation, manual air vent + water purge valve and G2 (MERV 4) filter.

- Manual air vent + water purge valve – enables quick and efficient system bleeding for hassle-free maintenance.
- Internal drain pan – allows flexible horizontal or vertical installation while safely collecting and channeling condensate, protecting interiors from leaks, water damage, and moisture issues

How can I mount the PFWB(C) Universal?
The PFWB(C) ceiling/floor/wall console unit offers great flexibility and choice for installation, making it suitable for every type of application. In fact, there are so many options for mounting or installation, we’ve listed them below.
Cased Models: Available with rounded corners in high-quality fire-retardant ABS. The Polar Air wired wallpad can be integrated on top of the unit casing for easy control.
- Horizontal: Can be mounted on a ceiling, recessed within a ceiling, suspended below a ceiling, or on the floor for baseboard-style heating or cooling.
- Vertical: Can be mounted to the floor or wall (recommended for a more aesthetically pleasing look). Optional supporting feet for floor mounting.
Uncased Models:
- Horizontal: Can be mounted on a ceiling, recessed within a ceiling, or suspended below a ceiling. For safety and aesthetic reasons, we recommend to install recessed within a ceiling only.
Vertical: Can be mounted to a wall or the floor but for safety reasons we do not recommend this
Why should I choose the PFWB(C) console?
PFWB(C) Universal fan coils offer many benefits including:
Limited Space: Floor-mounted and ceiling-mounted consoles are perfect when wall space is limited. PFWB(C) floor units fit in any corner, the ceiling units save wall space entirely, and the wall-mounted units can be placed higher up, leaving more room for interior design décor and artwork.
Low Angled Ceilings: Rooms with low angled ceilings can’t accommodate traditional wall-mounted units, making the PFWB(C) floor and ceiling-mounted configurations great alternatives.
Accessibility Challenges: PFWB(C) floorstanding units are easier to clean and maintain, making them convenient for people with busy lives, limited mobility, or disabilities. Ceiling and wall units, while less accessible, save valuable floor space.
Does the PFWB(C) Universal Console/Floorstanding use refrigerant?
No, it doesn’t. All Polar Air fan coils, including the PFWB(C) Universal, use hydronic or water technology instead of refrigerant. The main components include a water coil, a fan, and air filters. The water coil is designed to maximize heat exchange efficiency, as water is an excellent medium for transporting thermal energy. It can carry more thermal energy per unit volume than refrigerant, leading to reduced energy consumption and operational costs.
